Japan Trip
In April 2024 we travelled to Japan for my brother-in-law's wedding. It was a phenomenal trip, I wish I had more time to take photos but equally it was incredible to see my daughter (aged 3 at the time) embrace a different country and culture.
I was rushing back to Shinjuku station, it was raining but the neon lights shone out from this arcade just as a man in a suit was about to walk past.
Still on my rushed journey back to Shinjuku station I looked down from the road I was on to see two people crossing framed by a cherry tree in blossom.
We took a bullet train to the mountains to the north of Tokyo, what a great way to travel.
On our final day in Japan we went in search of cherry blossom and we weren't disappointed. This was taken in Yokohama at the Sukura Bridge.
Further on down the river Ooka in Yokohama.
A quiet residential street in Yokohama, compressed with a telephoto lens. The cyclist crossing at just the right moment, the tangle of power lines overhead, the stop markings painted on the road — Japan has a way of making the ordinary feel cinematic.
